5 signs of lung problems – beware!

Our   lungs   play a vital role in the proper functioning of all organs in our body. They must always be functioning correctly. When we inhale, healthy lungs take in oxygen and release it into the   bloodstream  , which transports it to the organs and cells throughout the body. When we exhale, healthy lungs release carbon dioxide. To keep your lungs healthy, you should be aware of the signs of   lung problems  . This helps protect your lungs from serious consequences and   reduces the risk of chronic lung diseases and lung cancer.

Diseases of the lungs and airways are  referred to as pulmonary or respiratory diseases  .  Among the most common symptoms of lung diseases are coughing and shortness of breath, commonly   called dyspnea.   Dyspnea is a narrowing of the airways in the lungs, leading to difficulty breathing   .

The lungs are among our most vital organs, so we should   pay closer attention than ever to any unusual symptoms or signs.   These signs can indicate a problem; some are easily remedied, while others require   medical treatment.

Back and shoulder pain

Although back, shoulder, and even chest pain are rare, they can be a   sign of lung cancer. If these symptoms are recognized early, there is a good chance of recovery. We recommend that you see your doctor if the  symptoms   persist for more than a week and the pain worsens.

Coughing protects the   airways   from irritants and helps to remove mucus from the airways.
