Ingredients:
8-10 fresh papaya leaves (or dried ones if fresh are unavailable)
2 cups of water
2 tablespoons of coconut oil or olive oil (optional for added moisture)
Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare the Leaves
Wash the papaya leaves thoroughly to remove any dirt.
Chop them into small pieces to make the boiling process easier.
Step 2: Boil the Leaves
Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a pot.
Add the chopped papaya leaves and let them simmer for 10-15 minutes until the water turns dark green and slightly reduces.
Remove from heat and let the liquid cool.
Step 3: Strain the Liquid
Once cooled, strain the water into a bowl, separating the leaves from the liquid. This is your papaya leaf tonic.
Step 4: Apply to Hair and Scalp
Massage the tonic into your scalp and hair, ensuring full coverage from root to tip.
For extra hydration, mix in 2 tablespoons of coconut or olive oil before applying.
Leave it on overnight for the best results. If pressed for time, let it sit for at least 2 hours before rinsing.
Step 5: Rinse and Repeat
In the morning, rinse your hair with lukewarm water. You can skip shampoo, as the tonic naturally cleanses the scalp.
For visible results, repeat this treatment 2-3 times a week.
