Option 2: Without Powdered Milk
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of whole milk
- 1 cup of sugar
- 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter
- ½ teaspoon of vanilla (optional)
Preparation:
In a medium saucepan, combine the milk and sugar. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves. Reduce the heat and simmer for 30-45 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. The mixture should thicken and reduce in volume by half.
Remove from the heat, add the butter and vanilla (if using), and mix well. Let cool completely before storing in an airtight container in the refrigerator. The texture will thicken as it cools.
Tips and Conservation
Storage: Homemade condensed milk lasts up to a week in the refrigerator. If you notice separation, mix well before using.
Enjoy it! Use your condensed milk in desserts, coffees, ice creams, or any recipe you want to sweeten with a creamy touch.
