At Metro Vein Centers, we offer several options for treating problem veins. Some clients come to their vein appointments primarily seeking cosmetic changes, while others have extensive and debilitating vein damage causing medical symptoms such as pain, swelling, itching, and restless legs.
Treatment options at Metro Vein Centers
All our treatment options are minimally invasive and require little to no recovery time.
Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy is a common treatment that uses small injections of a special foaming agent. The damaged veins being treated dissolve, allowing your legs to actually look like legs, not a spiderweb of veins. Sclerotherapy is considered the gold standard when it comes to cosmetic vein repair.
Endovenous laser ablation and radiofrequency ablation are other options.
Ablation treatments, including endovenous laser ablation and radiofrequency ablation, use tiny fibers that deliver guided lasers or special radio waves to specific problem veins in the legs. The treated veins are then absorbed by your body, allowing blood to flow through healthy veins.
Ambulatory phlebectomy
Phlebectomy is a treatment option that removes large, bulging veins from the body rather than just treating them. Your vein doctor will make a few small incisions and then remove the entire vein to provide immediate pain relief, without the need for stitches, using local anesthesia to minimize discomfort.
Other treatment options are available.
Additional treatment options we offer at Metro Vein Centers include the Excel V+ Laser, our newest laser technology treatment option, and Varithena, which uses a patented injectable foam.
