4/10 Eric insists on paying the bill
Eric was incredibly nice all evening: he opened the door, adjusted his chair, and was very polite. He seemed genuinely interested in Kelly. At the end of the meal, he insisted on paying the bill.
5/10 “The man pays on the first date”
Kelly wanted to pay her share, but Eric insisted, and she felt it would be rude to refuse. “On the first date, the man pays,” Eric explained, as if it were a matter of course. So Kelly agreed, without for a moment considering the possible consequences of her decision.
6/10 Kelly receives a bill
The next morning, Kelly woke up thinking Eric might have sent her a nice message to let her know he’d had a good evening. Instead, she found a message with an attachment. It was a bill!
